Today has been phase 2 of Operation: Host Thanksgiving for the first time. So far its gone pretty good. At least i didnt have to make any random trips to the grocery store in the middle of baking today. lol
I went to the grocery store today and got everything that i needed to make my thanksgiving a success. Just the last minute shopping of things that I didnt want to get last week in case they went bad.
After putting all the groceries away i mixed up a batch of Pumpkin Crunch. This recipe too is a family favorite and a very wonderful dessert. You mix together pumpkin and evaporated milk with sugar, eggs, cinnamon, and a little salt. Pour that in the bottom of a 9×13 pan, top with a box mix of yellow cake mix, dry. Top the cake mix with some chopped pecans. melt 2 sticks of butter together and pour over the top. Bake for 50-55 minutes until the cake is browned. Serve chilled with coolwhip. Its amazing!
I also cleaned the guest bathroom today and put in fresh towels for my sister in law. Now all that is left is straightening up the house and baking pies tomorrow.
Phase 3 will start bright and early tomorrow. Check back in to see how that day went.
Until Next Time,
